How do I find statistics?
Answer
There are a couple of library databases that are helpful when searching for statistics:
- Statista
Find statistics and industry information. A great place to find market and consumer data, as well as health and demographic statistics.
- ODESI
Access to 2,500+ datasets from the Data Liberation Initiative collection. Users can use to access Statistics Canada microdata files (PUMFs), extracts from the CIHI Discharge Abstract Database (DAD), an extensive collection of Canadian opinion polls, and assorted, historical datasets unavailable elsewhere. allows users to explore variables and values, and to create customs tabulations and subsets in a web browser.
When looking for local data or information that is very specific to a company or region, it may be helpful to search the company's website, the public health unit's website, etc. directly.
The data and statistics page from our Business Research Guide is also a great resource.
